After your appointment with the retinologist, do you have any questions?

We sometimes use medical jargon, which may be incomprehensible to our patients. It is entirely normal, after an appointment with a specialist, to have a number of questions or concerns about your eye health.

It may also happen that you have forgotten to ask certain questions.

To reassure our patients and their families, the ophthalmologists of CHIC: Dr. Xompero, Dr. Mehanna, Dr. Benettayeb, and Pr. Souied, have developed an artificial intelligence tool derived from ChatGPT; this tool is designed to answer your questions and provide you with accurate information, however, it does not replace your ophthalmologist.

You enter the terms you did not understand, our tool will provide answers to your questions, in writing and orally!

Dear Friends,

I had the honor of delivering the Lumbroso Lecture at FLORetina–ICOOR 2025 in Florence.

My presentation, entitled “Gene therapy for Neovascular AMD: are we moving toward a cure?”, provided an opportunity to review recent advances in gene therapy applied to neovascular AMD.

I discussed:

• the clinical data currently available,

• the limitations that must be considered when interpreting results,

• and the perspectives that may guide the next stages of development.

Receiving this distinction, bearing the name of Prof. Bruno Lumbroso, and speaking within such an inspiring setting was a significant moment.

I return from Florence with gratitude, renewed energy, and a strengthened conviction: the decade ahead will be decisive for our patients.

My thanks to the organizers, the scientific committee, the research teams, and all those who contribute to advancing this field at the crossroads of innovation, science, and patient care.

Always at the forefront of innovation and committed to providing exceptional care, the ophthalmology team at CHIC is proud to announce the arrival of the Towardpi Bmizar, a cutting-edge piece of retinal and segmental imaging equipment.

Installed since February 10, 2025, this Swept Source Full Range OCT angiography pushes the boundaries of ophthalmic imaging with exceptional performance. It enables ultra-wide field examinations at very high resolution, covering up to 24×20 mm with a 400 kHz cadence, offering an unmatched view of retinal and choroidal vascularization.

Beyond the technology, it is primarily the expertise and human commitment of our team that make the difference. Every day, ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and caregivers combine scientific know-how with a focus on patient care to provide high-quality services in an approach that is increasingly precise, effective, and compassionate.

The arrival of the Bmizar fully aligns with this dynamic of innovation aimed at enhancing the visual health of our patients. With this cutting-edge equipment, we are strengthening our ability to diagnose earlier, monitor more accurately, and further personalize treatments.

Because good vision means a better life, the ophthalmology department at CHIC continues its commitment to modern, human-centered medicine that is forward-looking.
