Le Professeur Eric SOUIED is the Head of the Ophthalmology Department at the Intercommunal Hospital of Créteil and Henri Mondor Hospital.
-He completed his medical doctorate from 1990 to 1996 at the University of Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), where he also completed his clinical fellowship in ophthalmology from 1996 to 2000.
-He pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2000 to 2002.

-Le Professeur Eric SOUIED has contributed to more than 600 scientific publications in the field of AMD, hereditary retinal diseases, and multimodal imaging. In 1998, he identified the first genetic polymorphism associated with AMD. He is also a member of the Macula Society, Jules Gonin Club, Donald Gass Club, IntRIS, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, ARVO, Euretina, and the National Academy of Surgery. He received the 2017 Macula Society Award
-Le Professeur Eric SOUIED has been ranked among the top 100 most influential personalities in ophthalmology by The Ophthalmologist journal in 2018. He is recognized as the leading international expert in the field of exudative AMD on the Expertscape website, which references the world's top experts in medicine. In 2023, he was ranked as the top ophthalmology expert in France by Le Point magazine.
